Rorschach Wood Art
I turned Dave Gibbons’ portrait of Rorschach from Watchmen into wood. I used a scroll saw to make this wooden art piece. Rorschach is made from walnut, maple, purple heart, yellow heart, blood wood, and wenge. I used wenge to create the shadows in Rorschach’s body. His jacket is made from walnut, selected for specific gain and color to help make certain parts shine in the moonlight. DC’s Watchmen is an incredible deconstruction of superheroes and Rorschach is a fan favorite. I’m thrilled by having the opportunity to turn him into wood.
