Popular Reclaimed Wood Cookbook / Tablet Stand

I was shocked to find out how much money this cook book or iPad stand is worth. I had no idea! I had to look into it more to find out what drives people to throw money at it. (Making the cut for Oprah Magazine definitely helps). I thought it would be a fun challenge to see how I could make my own version of this for a lot, lot less.

A cook book stand is a fun woodworking project to tackle and this one is pretty easy. It doesn’t require a full shop’s worth of big tools or a high skill level. The overall cost of materials is very cheap compared to many workshop projects. I made this woodworking project using some construction lumber and other low cost materials; some of which you may already have lying around from previous projects of your own. It’s also a rustic looking item so you don’t have to build it with too much precision. That being said, you can use the same build process and simply switch up the wood species, stain, dye, or paint and completely customize this stand to fit any style you want! It’s a quick way to get into the workshop and make a cool project.
